How it works: a Claude Code notification you can see across the room
AC Bridge listens to each agent's own hooks. When Claude Code or Codex finishes, needs permission or is waiting for input, the lights you picked change colour, so a glance at the room replaces the ping.
Why a status light instead of a notification sound
No sounds. No phone.
Ambient light replaces notification pings. Cook, read, watch a film. A glance at the room tells you if your agent is working, blocked, or done.

Questions before you start
How do I get a notification when Claude Code finishes?
Claude Code's Stop hook fires at the end of every turn, and AC Bridge turns it into a light change: FINISHED can turn your desk lamp green, for example. Needs permission comes from the Notification hook, about six seconds after the prompt opens. If a sound or a desktop notification is all you want, our guide lists every free way to set one up.
Which smart lights work with AC Bridge?
16 brands are driven directly on your LAN: Philips Hue, LIFX, Govee, WiZ, Nanoleaf, Kasa, Tapo, Yeelight, WLED, Shelly, Tuya, Meross, SONOFF (eWeLink), Elgato, Roku and ESPHome. Home Assistant adds 1000+ more devices, and SmartThings works through its cloud. Bulbs, plugs, LED strips and switches all count.
Do I need Philips Hue?
No. Hue is one of the 16 brands, not a requirement. A colour bulb can show every state in its own colour, a white bulb can still pulse or flicker, and a smart plug can switch an ordinary lamp on and off.
Does it work with Codex as well as Claude Code?
Yes. Setup wires both: a plugin for Claude Code, and entries in ~/.codex/hooks.json for Codex. On Codex, needs permission lights up the moment Codex asks for approval. Codex runs a new hook only after you trust it, so type /hooks once after setup. You can run both agents at once, each with its own profile.
What is sent off my machine?

What happens to my lights when the session ends?
Press Stop, or stop the bridge, and every device AC Bridge touched goes back to how it found it: it takes a snapshot the first time it changes each one. Devices it never touched, like a lamp you switched by hand, are left alone.
Does it run on Windows, macOS and Linux?
Yes: Windows (10 and 11, 64-bit), macOS (Apple silicon and Intel), Linux (x64 AppImage). Installers download from your account after you sign in, and there is a headless CLI too: npm i -g acbridge, on Node 22 or newer. Claude Code or Codex must be installed on the same machine.
Do I need a card for the free trial, and can I cancel?
